Making Strides Walk & Traffic Advisory

Dear Friends,

Another year has passed, and we are once again gearing up for the American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk” taking place on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Jones Beach State Park.

Last year, our fabulous TEAM raised $92,307 for the fight against Breast Cancer! Through your combined efforts NYBRA Plastic Surgery stood alongside organizations like Chevrolet, Walmart, and TJX, we ranked as the 18th highest fundraising company in the country! As a result, this past Fall our team was invited to the American Cancer Society National Partnership Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. While there NYBRA Plastic Surgery was recognized for our efforts on a national stage.

This year, NYBRA Plastic Surgery wants to double our efforts, to allow for a focused impact, by funding a cancer screening initiative in the Northeast Region. This year we hope to raise $175,000 which will help bring awareness and screening initiatives to underserved communities, ultimately saving more lives. Now is the time to begin!

We hope you will join us at 7:30 a.m., at Jones Beach State Park parking field 5, rain or shine, at our tent, on October 20th. We will be there to meet you with sweatshirts, coffee and breakfast.

Important Traffic Advisory:
We have been working with the race organizers of The Catholic Health Suffolk County Marathon on Oct. 20, 2024, New York State Parks and New York State Park Police to ensure safe travel to and from Making Strides Against Breast Cancer on Oct. 20, 2024.  Traveling to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer will be unaffected as the Robert Moses Causeway Southbound and Ocean Parkway Westbound will remain open to traffic. PLEASE ADVISE when leaving the event that the Robert Moses Causeway Northbound will be closed until 5 p.m. Leaving Jones Beach State Park, we recommend taking the Wantagh Parkway North or Meadowbrook Parkways North to the Southern State Parkway to avoid road closures.
