ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Diana Tjaden: Diana’s passion for oncology rehabilitation began in 2000 with the cancer diagnosis and then passing of her father. It was during that time that she began to understand the strong impact physical therapists can have when caring for this population. In 2003 Diana treated her first patient who was recovering from a breast cancer diagnosis. Her quest for knowledge in this area led her to develop Full Circle Breast Cancer Recovery Program in 2009.
In December of 2020, Diana partnered with Ivy Rehab with the goal of spreading this specialty program throughout Ivy Rehab’s network around the country. Her mission at this time is to incorporate physical therapy into the plan of care of every patient who is diagnosed with breast cancer!
Ivy Rehab’s Garden City office still remains the only practice on Long Island exclusively devoted to the care of patients’ recovery from a breast cancer diagnosis or those recovering from prophylactic surgery.
She has over 21 years of experience as a physical therapist with a manual/orthopedic background specializing in working with this unique and specialized population. Diana continues to be a guest lecturer for several organizations about all the aspects of breast cancer rehabilitation and has received several awards for her devotion and expertise.
Abby Wolfin: My name is Abby Wolfin, I am a board-certified clinical specialist in oncologic physical therapy. This will be my fourth year working with Diana and her team at Full Circle-Ivy Rehab. It is an honor to help women improve their quality of life with physical therapy throughout their breast cancer journey.
